Community Hails Governor Fashola

The people of Igando community in Alimosho Local Government of Lagos State, have commended the State Governor, MR Babatunde Raji Fashola, over the Reconstruction of the Lasu-Ojo Igando Road that links the Igando town to the Lagos Express Road with Republic of Benin the neighbouring country, which had been abandoned for so many years.In a statement signed by the secretary of the Community Development Association, Mr Olakunle Olawale, the people of Community thanked the governor for the kind gesture, saying that the people can now heave a sigh of relief and have a sense of belonging.According to the statement, the road had long been abandoned by the successive administration in the state, and the terrible condition of the road had pushed untold hardship to the people in the process of transporting their goods to other parts of the state, since the majority of the people of the community were traders.The people also commended the governor for his integrity, trustworthy and vision that highlighted during campaign which has brought the dividend of democracy to their community.

15 year old Marraige dissolved

The 15 year-old marriage between Mrs Adenike Daramola and Mr. Kehinde Daramola was dissolved through a petition filed before an Agege customary court, in Lagos recently. The cause of the sudden end to the love between the couple was that Mr Kehinde Daramola failed “to show love” to his wife. Their marriage was consummated 15 years ago through a customary marriage system. According to Adenike who was on her knees begging the court to separate them, not minding the three children who are the fruits of the union .The problem with the marriage, according to her information was that her mother in-law was not comfortable with her marriage to her son because she is an Ijebu woman and that she was not in the habit of preparing Pounded yam for her when she came visiting, hence her decision to send her packing.Her husband also tell the court that the wife was also promiscuous, claiming that already she was carrying another man's pregnancy which the woman denied in the open court. Dissolving the marriage, president of the Agege Chief Customary Court, Mr E.K. S. Bruce held thus: from all the evidences from both parties, the marriage that had broken down irretrievably is hereby forthwith dissolved. The custody of the Children should be with the wife who is in better position to take good care of them.

7 Year Old Girl Raped

A seventy year old man, Mr Sunday Akani has landed himself in trouble as he was to slammed with charges of rape and unlawful canal knowledge of an innocent girl before a magistrate court sitting at Ota.The incident happened at the believers International Church, Ijoko Ogun State. During Sunday service on 25th of July, 2009. The security man was alerted by a member of the Church who claimed to have been monitoring the old man because he is not a member or relative of any member of the church and the manner with which he was playing with kids since his arrival in the church premises. The old man was caught in the secluded area of the church where he was putting his hand into the private part of the little girl. Sunday Akani was protected by the elders from angry youth of the church who were attracted to the scene.When the matter was reported at the Ijoko Police Station, it was confirmed that the old man has just been released from detention for the same offence which he had previously committed.
